Yaki Sugi (aka Shou Sugi Ban) is an ancient Japanese practice of preserving wood by charring the wood surface. The technique of Shou Sugi Ban is an environmentally conscious process that protects the wood and avoids the use of harmful pollutants.

We can provide 3 different treatments to the wood for your next project

1. Charred wood
Traditional japanese style charred wood. Aesthetically pleasing and gives the wood a 100% natural treatment that  protects the wood against fire, mold, insects and avoids the use of harmful pollutants

2. Charred and char removal
Using our own technique we remove the carred layer to reveal the woods elevated grain. This treatment gives the same benefits as only charring but with a cleaner look and no crumbling of the char.

3. Charred, removed and coated
To further enhance the durability and longevity of our product we can also a an SDF coating either clear or solid. This will give extra lifetime to the wood and make it look new for longer.
